What is Intro To Dance?

Intro to Dance is offered to students, ages 3 - 8, who want to try dancing for the first time. Enrollment for this shorter-week session begins after Fall enrollment is closed (in December).

Enrollment for Intro To Dance starts AFTER we close our regularly scheduled Fall sessions. Come January - March, kids ages 3 - 8 can come to a shorter session (only 8 weeks) to learn new styles and get introduced to music and dance for the first time. If we not yet enrolling for Intro To Dance (in January - March) you will want to check out the PRE-K General Class, Mommy & Me, Hippity Hop, any of our regularly scheduled classes, OR sign up for a FREE trial class of your choosing!

In Intro To Dance, dancers ages 3-5 will start in our Beginner I class. We have lots of fun learning the foundations of dance while exploring music, movement, and self-expression! Dancers ages 6-8 start in Beginner II. We get a little more detailed and will be introduced to all types of dance styles like: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. We learn more technique and how to follow rhythm and beat through movement & self-expression.

Both classes are designed to introduce young students to not just dance, but also our community and studio family. One of the biggest reasons to join The Dance Studio is for the relationships we build. We (even the parents) meet lifelong friends and the kids get a chance to interact socially while still learning new skills.

Learn more about the benefits of dance and how joining a studio like The Dance Depot helps kids with confidence, brain function, and academics in our latest blog post. To sign up for a free trial class today, fill out the quick form at the bottom of this page and we will be right with you!
